In the heart of the forest lies a secluded manor where rumors whisper about a girl who calls it home. However getting to this puzzling estate proves impossible as it is veiled in a fog that no one can penetrate. Those who dare to enter this veil never return, trapped in its grip.Amidst the mist resonates unsettling sounds of growls. Ghostly whispers echo through the air. Flickering apparitions of cats dart through the darkness. If one looks enough they might glimpse a fleeting shadow of a lone figure. A mysterious girl wandering within the depths of the fog.

THE STORY

This manor was at one time full of life; it radiated in terms of wealth and happiness. Nowadays, it was secluded from the rest of the world and has been suspended in a time of its own. It belonged to a famous doctor and his beloved wife, together with their daughter. They spent a life full of happiness and love until a cruel disease took the mother's life.This loss was so terrible that it drove the father to despair, with his mind seized by a deathly, all-conquering dread. He became paranoid, eventually overwhelmed by the idea of preserving his daughter's life at any price that had to be paid. The erstwhile lively manor turned into a deadly silence as the doctor fought relentlessly to safeguard the last of his blood.

The father had been probing the secret behind eternal life and how it could be achieved, or at least how the human lifespan could be increased. Moved by his overwhelming fear and love for his daughter, he decided to turn his desperate dreams into reality through acting on his research once and for all.With a final tender kiss to her forehead, he gave both his daughter and the family cat a final gentle stroke into a deep slumber. Within the quiet of that cursed lab, he would start his experiments to entwine their essences—two eternally together—to only hope to secure eternal life for his daughter in a manner known only to his grieving mind.

It was delicate and harrowing, a dance between desperation and madness, reflecting the taut balance in his mind among science, nature, and insanity. As he worked, the room drew in on him, weighed by what he was doing.Finally, it was complete. He stepped back, breathless and hopeful, awaiting some sign of life. The lab was silent, except for the soft hum of rusty machinery. His daughter lay still, unresponsive. It hit him like a tidal wave—the understanding that he had failed her. The room seemed to grow colder, the silence growing more deafeningly loud, while he stared at his lifeless creation, consumed by a devastating weight of failure.

It was as if time had subsided within that hidden lab. Then, one day, amidst entropic silence and stillness, She slowly opened her eyes. Her ears twitched, and her tail swayed. Her movements now had a newfound grace. The experiment had worked: she had awoken, a fusion between a human and a feline in the most extraordinary way.

She wandered aimlessly in the darkening, cobweb-ridden manor, coming across her father's remains, silently testifying to his tragic end. But she was not alone.It was across these grounds that long-departed servants, ladies, and lords—all prematurely deceased—strolled by as if to ever remind one of the very sad and long history of the manor. In so many restless souls, none were of the family for which she was desperately searching: neither her mother's gentle presence nor the figure of her father came forth from among the wandering apparitions—an aching, gnawing void, a longing which seemed almost palpable, reaching beyond the boundaries of time.

They grew to care for her, and she became essentially the treasure of the manor, the last living lady of the house.The years slowly regained the manor to a place of light. Its walls resounded with laughter and joy as the girl and her new ghostly family made the best of existence together.And so, here is the story of Cyphi, the lady of the haunted manor, an interweaving of echoes from the past with the promise of the future.
Whatever other adventures lie ahead of her, they shall be for her to discover.
